What ReportBase is
ReportBase is an independent abuse-documentation platform. ReportBase is an independent abuse-documentation platform and is not affiliated with Discord Inc. It is not a law enforcement body, a court, a regulator, or an agent of any platform. It has no power to investigate, compel, sanction or adjudicate.
What a record is, and is not
A ReportBase record documents submitted or reviewed evidence. The existence of a report does not by itself establish that a person committed a crime.
A record is not a criminal conviction, a charge, a civil judgment, or a finding of fact by any tribunal. A status of Reported to authorities means material was referred; it says nothing about whether that referral was acted on. A status of Evidence corroborated describes the material, not the person.
If you rely on a record to make a decision about someone, that decision is yours. Read the record, including its status, its evidence assessments and any dispute recorded on it — not just the headline.
Using the platform
You agree not to:
- submit a report you know or suspect to be false
- submit material for the purpose of harassing, intimidating or retaliating against someone
- upload private personal information about anyone, whether or not they are the subject of the report
- use a record as a basis for contacting, threatening or organising action against its subject
- scrape, bulk-download or republish records in a way that strips them of their status and context
- attempt to obtain evidence you are not authorised to see, or to identify a reporter
Submitting knowingly false allegations may expose you to legal liability independently of anything ReportBase does.
Submitted material
By submitting material you confirm that you have the right to share it and that your description of it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You grant ReportBase permission to store it, to review it, to produce redacted copies of it, and to publish it or a redacted copy of it as part of a record.
ReportBase decides what is published. Submitting material does not guarantee that a record will be created, and a decision not to publish is not a finding that the report was untrue.
Corrections and removal
Anyone may request a correction. ReportBase will review the request and may amend the record, record a dispute against it, remove unsupported information, or decline. Where a record is contested and the point cannot be resolved, the dispute is recorded on the record itself.
Availability and accuracy
ReportBase is provided as it stands. Records reflect the material submitted and the reviews carried out; they may be incomplete, and an absence of a record means nothing at all. No warranty is given that the platform will be available, complete or free of error.
Not an emergency service
ReportBase does not monitor submissions in real time and cannot respond to an incident in progress. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number.
