Report an account

This takes about five minutes. A person reads every report. Nothing you send appears on the site automatically, and your name and email are never published.

If someone is in danger right now, do not use this form

ReportBase is not an emergency service and nobody is watching submissions in real time. Call your local emergency number instead — 999 in the UK, 911 in the US, 112 across the EU.

Before you start

  • Only report what you saw. Describe what actually happened. You do not need to prove anything — a reviewer will assess whatever you can provide.
  • Leave out private information. Do not include anyone's address, phone number, workplace or school — including the person you are reporting. It will not be published either way.

  • Submit firsthand evidence where you can. Material you received or saw directly carries far more weight than something forwarded to you. Say which it is.
  • Do not exaggerate. Describe what happened, not what you infer from it. Overstating one part of a report undermines all of it.
  • Do not knowingly submit false allegations. A knowingly false report is the most serious misuse of this platform and may expose you to legal liability.
  • Do not upload unrelated private information. Leave out addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, financial details and information about family members — including the reported person's. It will not be published and may cause the submission to be discarded.
  • Do not retaliate against the reported user. Do not contact, threaten or organise action against them. Submitting a report is not a step in a dispute.
  • ReportBase is not an emergency service. Submissions are not monitored in real time. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number.

Who are you reporting?

We need the account, not the person's real name.

Usernames get changed, but this number never does — without it a report often cannot be matched to the right account. In Discord, open Settings → Advanced and turn on Developer Mode. Then right-click the account (or press and hold on mobile) and choose Copy User ID.

What happened?

Pick the closest match. A reviewer can change it later if another fits better.

Say what you saw or received, roughly in order, with dates if you remember them. Stick to what actually happened rather than what you think it means.

Optional, but it makes a real difference to what a reviewer can do.

Your files stay private while your report is reviewed.

If a screenshot happens to show an address, a phone number or anything else private, a moderator can black it out before any part of it is published — and the original is never made public. Photos are also stripped of hidden location data when they arrive.

You can send a report without any files. It will usually be recorded as unverified until someone can supply supporting material.

What happens after you send it

  1. You get a reference number such as SUB-7H2KF9. Keep it — you will need it to ask about your report.
  2. A reviewer reads what you sent and checks it against anything already on file for that account.
  3. They may email you to ask for more detail. Replying is usually what decides whether a report can be confirmed.
  4. If a record is published, anything private is blacked out first, and you are never named.

Reporting an account here does not report it to the platform. If it is breaking that platform's rules, report it there as well — the two are separate.
